With the theme of the First Christmas, we look at the topic of Active Waiting, the type of waiting shown by Simeon, who waited to meet Jesus in the Temple that first Christmas. Simeon's waiting, and even more, Simeon's Rejoicing are models for us today.
This morning, we look at St. John's Gospel, and how John approaches Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we focused on The Nativity according to Matthew and Luke, who describe Christ coming down to dwell among us. John takes us up into Heaven, before the Creation to meet our Redeemer.
